Our vision, investor information and leadership team profiles
Word from Richard
Hi everybody, me again!
What a week it’s been – we’ve kicked one of my personal favorite Wejo campaigns to date, the ‘Versus’campaign, which shows off the fun side of Wejo we don’t show too often. Alongside this, we released some accompanying videos where I answered questions such as “what does the future city look like with Wejo?” and “why do you talk about data for good?”.
We also announced a very important panel discussion on road safety awareness, taking place later this month, with our friends at Google, Purdue University, General Motors and the Indiana Department of Transport.
Wejo was also awarded the Investor in Diversity Award from the National Centre of Diversity in the UK. It’s a proud moment for us, as we continue to cement our longstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion across the entire business. We look forward to building on this too, and see ourselves as at the beginning of a journey of constantly learning and evolving.
This of course was the tip of the iceberg, with lots of work going on behind the scenes to keep our tremendous growth and content coming, too.
That’s it from me for this week, but do read on below for a breakdown on what we’ve been up to in more detail, and also keep an eye out on our social channels for more Versus films to come!
Wejo Versus
We’ve been really excited to release this campaign, as it takes what can honestly be quite a dry, hard-to-understand subject like connected vehicle data and breaks it down into more digestible, fun messages.
Our first Versus film, ‘Wejo Versus Traffic’, was released on Monday to a sensational response and we then released the second film, ‘Wejo Versus Congestion’, to a similarly fantastic response.
We had a lot of fun shooting this one and, from the responses so far, seems like they have gone down well with you, our audience, so keep your eyes peeled on our YouTube channel for more Versus content (and more)!
Connecting the DOTs Panel
As part of the National Work Zone Awareness Week 2021, we will be hosting a panel with experts from Purdue University, Google, General Motors and the Indiana Department of Transportation; to explore how technology can not only help improve the future of transportation but also protect those building that future.
Improving road safety, as well as work zone safety in particular, are really important parts of our work and one of the initial issues we set out to solve when our journey began. It would be great to see many of you join this event, where the panel will discuss:
You can register to attend this for free here.
Texas storm infographic
When the unprecedented winter storm hit Texas in February, our connected vehicle data clearly showed a massive decrease in journeys and an increase in those using their heaters in static vehicles to keep warm.
With winter now over and different sorts of weather challenges approaching, we decided to publish our findings in animated and static infographics. This will help to explain how connected vehicle data can identify and help to mitigate against potentially hazardous weather, as well as make more people aware of how to keep safe.
