Word from Richard

Hey everyone, thanks for tuning in to the 13th installment of the Wejo Weekly Wrap. It’s been arguably the most exciting week in Wejo’s history, for a variety of reasons.

Firstly, last week, we announced a business combination with Virtuoso Acquisition Corp. which will mean the eventual public listing of Wejo. In 2014 I founded Wejo with a belief that the rise in connected vehicle data should be driven by a passion for using data for good. Every day, billions of people make journeys that generate valuable data, data that Wejo can use to shape our world to be a better place.

We are an industry leader in connected vehicle data (CVD), and last week’s announcement of our plans to list publicly in the U.S., is a moment that will help us build and further unlock the value and good in CVD. Read more about this in a letter I wrote last week, as well as the press release for more granular detail.

Secondly, we continued our Data Driven Series roll out with an episode I thoroughly enjoyed; as it contained two of my favorite cars ever! It was genuinely thrilling to be able to go around the track in the legendary Ferrari F40 I dreamed of as a child embarking on my car-obsessed journey.

We also announced a host of events we’ll be attending and speaking at, so read on below for more information on this and the Data Driven series. See you next week!

Richard.

Data Driven Series

Last week’s episode of the Data Driven Series was a special one; for the first time ever, we had the Ferrari F40 and McLaren Senna on the track together. These are two iconic cars, contrasted by their connectivity features, but sharing a legendary status and raw power.

Richard also sat down with Paul Wallace in a Porsche GT3RS to discuss their favorite supercars, where their passion for cars came from and how connected vehicle data originated from supercars and racing.

Yesterday, we then released episode 4 of the series: the American special. We had the beastly Dodge RAM and classic Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 on the track, with Richard talking about  both cars and how we work with their manufacturers.

If you missed the episodes, they are available here and keep an eye out for the series finale next Thursday!
