Word from Richard

Hi everybody, thanks again for tuning in to the twelfth Weekly Wrap! I will keep my note short, as the team have so much news for you below.

It was a very busy and enjoyable week this week. We released the second Data Driven Episode across our social channels, we welcomed a new face to team Wejo, Benoit Joly, who we’re very excited about working with and we also announced two events which Wejo will be represented at.

On a personal note, myself and the team have really appreciated the warm reception to the Data Driven Series so far, having racked up over a hundred thousand views so far across our channels. There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes of a business as large as Wejo, so these moments serve as heartwarming rewards to see our work received so well, thank you.

We’re really looking forward to next week, as we release the Data Driven Supercar Special and much more. See you then and have a great week.

Richard.

Data Driven

Data Driven Series

Following on from last week’s big launch of the Data Driven Series, this week we continued the fun with the release of episode two. This time around, we had the beastly BMW M8 and Alfa Romeo Giulia – two of the 10.7 million cars on our platform.

We had racing drivers Ollie Webb and Adam Christo putting the cars through their paces on the track and also competing with Tom Kahler, a top automotive photographer, in our dare.

An then lastly, Richard took both cars for a ride and chatted through their truly impressive connectivity features, as well as how Wejo works with both of the carmakers.

Head over to this page to read more about the Data Driven Series and to watch both episodes. Then make sure you keep your eyes on our channels for next Thursday’s release, the Supercar Special featuring the McLaren Senna and the one and only Ferrari F40!

Benoit Joly

New EVP Ingress

Ingress - the partnerships we built with OEMs & Tier 1s, onboarding and standardizing their data from millions of live connected vehicles - is a fundamental pillar of Wejo, our vision and our business.

No other business has achieved the number of Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs) as we have over the past six years – under the watch of Sarah Larner. We are now delighted to welcome Benoit Joly to the helm of this key pillar of our business, from his previous position as head of Services business unit for the Renault Group.

We’re really excited to see the impact Benoit will undoubtedly have on widening the gap between us and other players in the industry in terms of DSAs.

Bret Scott, our VP of Partnerships, will be speaking at TechCrunch Sessions: Mobility on June 9.

In the session, we will explore how local, state, province and federal government agencies can visualize traffic, crash and congestion conditions using connected vehicle data – curated from millions of connected vehicles.
