Wejo’s VP of Public Sector, Gareth Evans, recently joined Traffic Technology International’s “The Transportation Podcast” to discuss how Wejo’s data-driven approach is revolutionizing transportation upgrades.

The latest episode features an interview with Scott Lee of TranSmart Technologies – a leader in intelligent transportation systems and a user of Wejo’s smart mobility data. Namely a civil engineering firm, TranSmart Technologies specializes in helping organizations develop safety and mobility solutions, enabling clients to access the latest and greatest roadway technology.

As Chief Engineer, Scott is currently overseeing the reconstruction of the Central Tri-State Tollway (I-294) Project – a toll highway in the northeastern point of Illinois which runs through Chicago. The update will provide congestion relief, meet current and future transportation demands, and address regional needs.

During the podcast, Scott discusses the dataset TranSmart Technologies is using for the project, its benefits for advanced incident detection, and the promising penetration rates already displayed. He’s particularly optimistic about exploring work zone performance throughout the reconstruction’s lifecycle – in other words, the various phases of traffic control plans.

Hear all about Scott’s experience with Wejo’s data so far, and his positive outlook for the future – for instance, the ability to apply some of the learnings from the I-294 reconstruction to other major infrastructure projects.

Tune in today to discover how connected vehicle data is driving results in the traffic management sector.
