Our vision, investor information and leadership team profiles
Spring Mountain Motor Resort is a breathtaking racetrack and country club situated 55 miles outside Las Vegas, in the heart of the Nevada desert. Tucked in beside a mountain backdrop, this idyllic location made the perfect spot to host our Data In The Desert track event, which took place on September 27–28th 2022.
Our track experience was about getting industry contributors behind the wheel of connected vehicle data. They got the opportunity to tackle the bends of the four-mile Andretti course in a luxury, connected sports car – accompanied by a professional racing driver. Then, they witnessed a showcase of the data insights that can be garnered from these vehicles.
Attendees were in pole position to realize the power of connected vehicles on and off the track. Throughout this exclusive day, they discovered a new innovation that will propel the autonomous future and change how they view smart mobility.
It’s safe to say the whole event was a great success! Five phenomenal race cars hit the tarmac with a pro-racer for each, including Ollie Webb, Duncan Tappy and Jamie Wall, who collectively have won the European Le Mans series, the Formula Ford Festival, and have even driven for major Hollywood blockbusters.
But that’s not all. Among eye-opening keynote speeches, we also unveiled an innovation that establishes Wejo as a key player in the future of autonomy…
Revealed exclusively to our audience in the desert, we drew back the curtain on DLIVEREE: an autonomous vehicle prototype that integrates with live, real-time connected vehicle data. This marks the latest evolution in Wejo’s Autonomous Vehicle Operating System (AV-OS), and will support the development, testing and operation of AVs for the future.
By integrating parameters such as the number of cars on the road, construction barriers, crossing pedestrians, cyclists, and dangerous weather and road conditions, DLIVEREE will help to empower AV developers, DOTs, fleet operators and more to realize the full potential of AVs. In the words of our founder and CEO Richard Barlow:
“We are ultimately supporting the creation of the most experienced driver on the road”
