The EU Commission's initial proposal for the EU Data Act landed on 23rd February, 2022. The Act is part of the Commission's plan to create €270 billion of additional GDP by 2028. The Act aims to create a harmonised framework for accessing and sharing data, one that guarantees users of vehicles can gain access to the data they generate, providing consumers and companies with more control.

The Data Act will introduce new rules on who can use and access data generated by the use of IoT products in the EU. For global automotive OEMs, this will drastically increase the demand for data access and contracts to manage. OEMs will also need to tighten regulatory compliance, privacy by design and data usage declarations.

It is crucial for OEMs, especially connected services and data privacy professionals, to understand the implications and start preparing for the new way of working.

In this webinar, Wejo will discuss the key highlights of the EU Data Act and how you can build efficient data processes to support the Act.

Watch the webinar to learn:

  • Key summary of the EU Data Act for OEMs and the automotive industry
  • What challenges will the Act bring
  • What are the opportunities underlying the challenges
  • How to manage and gain efficiencies with your data
