Connected vehicle pioneer Wejo and location intelligence specialists Esri have announced a new joint solution that will augment Esri’s geographic information system (GIS) technology with data from connected vehicles. Users will be able to complement the existing curated data behind Esri’s powerful location services with traffic and mobility intelligence collected directly from vehicles in near real-time.
More than 350,000 organizations – including departments of transportation, engineering and construction firms, public safety organizations, and insurance providers, among others – rely on Esri for location services and accurate, informed maps developed by using Esri’s ArcGIS technology.
Wejo will make trillions of data points from millions of vehicles available to users of Esri’s ArcGIS, a system that connects people, locations, and data using advanced mapping and analysis. This solution will be enabled by Wejo’s Intelligence product suite.
Wejo’s Intelligence products provide highly granular and accurate traffic trends and insights from across the US road network, in simple to use formats. Using vehicle data sourced from the world’s largest connected car fleet, combined with powerful filters, the Wejo & Esri solution has now made traffic data easily accessible for any organization via ArcGIS. From supporting road planning decisions to analyzing waypoints, Journey Intelligence allows any organization to deepen their understanding of journey trends in a simple and accessible way, providing analysis which allows them to make better business decisions, innovate and solve problems more effectively/efficiently - now available via ArcGIS.
The Wejo team will work to educate the Esri Business Development Team about the benefits of Wejo’s Intelligence products. We will support with marketing collateral and materials to assist in pitches to the following marketplaces:
Studying traffic volumes across cities, states and regions. Spot locations of behaviours that could be at risk of incident aiding vision zero studies
Identify areas susceptible to congestion by day of week and hour of day. Gain insight on impact of road closures and work zones on road networks
Understanding average speeds by road segment to track road wear and tear. See event relating to safety concerns pre - during and post project
Understand the total number of vehicles visiting a location
Reassess optimal locations using current data
New data set inferring traffic volumes without implementation of road sensor networks fed straight to ArcGIS
Accurate data obtained from real world vehicles only data set available on the marketplace provided purely by Connected vehicles
Attributes only provided by Wejo such as harsh braking harsh acceleration
Set yourself apart from competitors by using connected vehicle data to bring customers the most accurate location-based information, going beyond traditional data sources.
Use connected vehicle data to get a real-time picture of what is happening on the roads to build more accurate maps and get drivers and passengers to their destinations more efficiently.
