Word from Richard

Hey everybody, hope you’ve had a great week.

It’s been a really important week for us at Wejo, with National Work Zone Safety Awareness Week 2021 being a highlight in our annual calendar. It’s a week where we focus on how our data can be used to literally save lives. We’ve been focusing all of our social media channels to raising awareness of work zone safety all week, as well as using this year’s orange theme on all of our comms, email signatures, website and this newsletter. We also hosted a webinar yesterday; with Purdue University, the Indiana Department of Transport and Google, which we were delighted to see so many of you at.

We also put out the last of our Versus films on Monday, the last of five pieces of content that we were really proud to bring you. Meanwhile the team have been working hard behind the scenes editing our next series of content that I teased in last week’s wrap up, content which we shot in Anglesey, Wales, called Data Driven Dares.

More information on all of this is below, so do read on, and from me, thank you again for tuning in to our weekly wrap and see you next week!

Richard.

Connecting the DOTs

Work Zone Safety Awareness Week

Yesterday, we hosted our Connecting the DoTs webinar for National Work Zone Safety Awareness Week 2021, with Purdue University, the Indiana Department of Transport and Google. We explored how technology can not only help improve the future of transportation, but also protect those building that future.

We saw real examples of how Purdue University uses connected vehicle data to provide the Indiana DOT with insights on work zone safety issues and how Google Cloud’s platform provides secure, cost-effective data storage.

It was a truly insightful and enjoyable webinar, which is available at this link in case you missed it – the highlights from the webinar are also available on this Twitter thread.

Thank you to all of our speakers, those working on the webinar behind the scenes and of course all of you who attended.

Versus films

Earlier this week, we released the final episode of our ‘Versus’ films, Wejo Versus Bad Weather.

We were really excited to put this series out, as the films show the playful side of Wejo that we don’t typically get much time to focus on, due to the technical nature of our business.

Nonetheless, we wanted to get our message across and show you how Wejo is solving many real-world issues, in a fun, different way.

We loved hearing that the series has been a massive success with all of you, our audience, so we will be putting out more enjoyable content in the future – keep an eye on our YouTube channel!

Data Driven Dares

On this note, we’ve been working hard on the post production of the most ambitious content we’ve ever created…

We can confirm that the first Episode of Data Driven Dares will be released early May on all of our channels, but keep a particular eye on our YouTube channel, to see it in all of its glory –trust us, it’s worth it!
