Word from Richard

Hi everyone, hope you’re all keeping well. The team and I at Wejo have been working hard, as usual, on continuing to lead the connected vehicle data revolution. We were proud to release more exciting Data Driven Reviews this week, which feature both the Aston Martin Vantage and the Bentley Flying Spur – check them out if you missed them.

However, this week has also been an important one for Wejo in a different way, as we celebrated the city and country that we call home. The week began with Manchester Day, an annual celebration of the city this company was founded in and is still very much headquartered in. With our global ambitions and growth in four continents across the world, some might make the mistake of thinking we have outgrown our roots – but we have not! This message was echoed in my interview with The Times on Monday.

Wejo has been celebrating our home city of Manchester

Looking more broadly past Manchester, the UK as a whole has been in the spotlight this week. It was announced that the UK has become one of only three countries in the world to reach the milestone of having 100 tech unicorns; this announcement was particularly pertinent to Wejo given that we are proud to be one of the hundred.

Our heritage as a pioneering nation was also celebrated with the inclusion of Alan Turing on the new £50 note. We celebrated this moment on the day of the announcement, which you can read about here, but personally I loved to see such an inspirational man recognised in this way.

We have lots of really exciting things we’re working on in the background, which I’m looking forward to sharing with you in the near future. Until then, thanks for tuning in to this week’s weekly wrap and speak soon!

Richard.
