This year COMVEC™, the premier North American conference spanning the on-highway, agricultural, construction, industrial, military and mining sectors was themed around Energy Balance and Future Transportation. With a packed program of technical sessions, we were delighted to be invited to feature as the Connected Vehicle expert on a panel discussing, Big Data for Connected and Autonomous Commercial Vehicles on September 16, at 10.30 a.m.

Vehicle data collected from connected trucks and cars with extensive instrumentation is emerging as a source for enhanced probe data, supporting the simple message "Vehicles know more about our infrastructure than agencies do." Over 4 trillion connected vehicle records are collected each year in the United States and commercially available for agencies and private sector users. This data currently includes information such as individual trajectories, hard braking, weather.  

Moderated by Darcy Bullock, Purdue University, the panel also featured, Howell Li, Purdue University, Hoseinali Borhan, Cummins Inc. and Monali Shah, Google Inc.
