Background

The connected car space is one of the fastest growing sectors in the Internet of Things. A new generation of vehicles are coming off the production line that are more like computers and are by default connected.  Car manufacturers are looking to extend what have been traditional infotainment systems, Insurers are looking to provide better understanding of risk, Users are demanding more feedback and everyone has increasingly amounts of data available that they need support to understand what to do with it.

This role is to join a newly created team to ensure our core products are monitored and managed in line with he Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) in place with wejo’s customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the infrastructure health including performance and capacity review, installing hardware, software and environmental alerts and malfunctions working to determine the cause of the problem
  • Triage & troubleshooting of problems that arise within the infrastructure
  • Coordination of all support activities with third-party vendors, customer contacts and other IT teams
  • Track and document all relevant local issues and resolutions in detail
  • Escalation of issues based on severity to senior management, other IT resources or third-party vendors for assistance in reaching a resolution
  • Making key decisions (in consultation where required) with SME’s within the organisation and/or from third-party support organisations

Required skills & experience

  • Experience managing and supporting network infrastructure in an AWS environment
  • Experience of in monitoring tools & dashboards (e.g. panopta, Zabbix etc.), Elasticsearch, Logstash and Clouddwatch
  • Experience in managing kafka clusters, restarting or monitoring topics
  • Understanding of logging systems & logging format for java/scala/spark applications
  • Cloudwatch experience
  • Knowledge of Linux & Microsoft Windows systems
  • Experience using IAM roles
  • Strong ability to diagnose server or network alerts, events or issues
  • Understanding of common information architecture frameworks
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and projects with minimal supervision
  • Good oral and written communication skills, and ability to address conflict with others constructively
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery plans and related technologies
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Desired

  • Experience in incident reporting and incident management
  • Active Directory experience beneficial
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques
  • Previous customer service or helpdesk experience
  • Commercial experience working in Insurance, Digital sector
  • Networking experience based around exposure to DDOS, black hole routing, network outages, power outages
